Most staff returned to work at the end of January to many emails and overflowing mail trays.
We have been working vigorously through our backlog in readiness for the return of first year students this week.
We anticipate that this year’s intake of new students will be another great year.
Enrolment day is on Wednesday and it looks like we will have more than 50 new first year students enrolled to start full-time courses.
With last year’s students carrying on into this year, the college has not had comparative student numbers for many years.
It just goes to show that agriculture is the way of the future.
Our 10 student leadership representatives from last year return to the college on Monday.
These representatives head off to Rocklands with student counsellor and skills instructor Greg Radford to participate in workshops aimed at ensuring the college student body functions well for this new year.
The student leadership group aims to set an example for how students should conduct themselves at the college; assist in settling and welcoming new and past student back for this year; organise social functions; and provide and offer support to their student peers

Apprenticeship training is continuing to be in high demand from students wishing to pursue a career in agriculture whilst working on the land.
The college had a good harvest after two challenging years, so it’s fair to say we were all pretty relieved as no doubt other primary producers.
Let’s hope the year ahead is a good one.
We wish every student the very best for their coming year.
We trust they will study hard, enjoy life and reap the rewards of what the college can offer them for an exciting career in the future.
