Emma McCrae and Tom Roughead were awarded the 2016-17 Fox and Lillie Rural scholarship last year.
The scholarship is designed to provide opportunities for young students at a grass roots level in the industry, looking to fulfil a career in agriculture, and in particular wool.
Longerenong College campus head John Goldsmith said he was thrilled to have the Fox and Lillie Rural supporting young agricultural leaders.
“Not only financial support through generous scholarships but the organisation also gives recipients opportunities to work closely with the different aspects within the agricultural industry,” he said.
Fox and Lillie Rural managing director Jonathon Lillie said the company had offered grass roots wool traineeships for many years.
“We are not only committed to providing financial support to these students for their studies, but also the chance for them to better understand the wool pipeline from the farm gate to the end user,” he said.
Fox and Lillie Rural will continue its support of Longerenong College with another scholarship on offer this year.
Fox and Lillie Rural brokerage manager Eamon Timms said Longerenong College had built up an enviable reputation for training and education in the rural sector.
“We are pleased to support and encourage Longerenong College students wishing to enter into the wool industry,” he said.
