Leading Senior Constable Cal Myers said on Sunday night, a B-double or a semi-trailer entered Lochiel Wayside Stop along the Western Highway.
“The area has a big pergola roof over it and it looks like a truck has became stuck in the wrong area, performed a 15-point turn, knocked the roof over and drove off,” he said.
“It’s a pretty big roof, but it’s now leaning over and might fall down.”
Volunteers offer free coffee to motorists at the stop during holidays and long weekends.
Volunteer Jan John said the damage was very disappointing.
“We are only two weeks away from the school holidays and we operate during the holidays,” she said.
“We might have to pull the whole roof down now – we’re not happy about it.
“It looks like someone ran into all eight poles that hold the roof up.”
Leading Senior Constable Myers said anyone with information should call the Dimboola Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
