Micaela Wilson, Shae Brown, April Brandley and Sam Gooden will travel to run the clinics in conjunction with AFL Wimmera Mallee.
AFL Wimmera Mallee netball manager Nikki Ervin said she was excited for the clinics.
“We haven’t been able to bring clinics like this to Horsham for some time,” she said. “Unlike the football clinics, the netball clinic tend to be self-funded and we have partnered with Wilson Bolton Holden to help bring the players to town.”
Juniors aged 12-13 will take part in a morning clinic before a clinic for 14 and 15-year-olds in the early afternoon.
Each Horsham District Football Netball League Club and Wimmera Netball Association club have been offered three spots in each clinic.
“There has been fantastic support and excitement for the clinics already,” Ervin said. “The clubs are loving the idea and are telling me they have other players to take part if there is free spots available, but it doesn’t look like there will be at this stage.”
The clinics will give juniors a chance to learn and refine their skills with some of the best players in the state.
“Most of the time the girls would have to travel to Melbourne to get the opportunity to rub shoulders with players of this calibre,” Ervin said.
“We’re very thankful for the support Wilson Bolton have shown for this clinic and netball in the region. It’s only a couple of weeks away and I’m already excited and I don’t even get to take part.”
