The round is the only major event hosted by the club each year.
Club president Shane Souter said members and volunteers had put in a lot of hard work to prepare for the round. “Everything is looking good now,” he said. “All that is left to do is put some more banners up around the club on Friday.”
The number of competitors continues to climb with entries open right up to the weekend. “This round is always the toughest to get entries for in the middle of winter,” Souter said. “We are still looking at attracting more than 160 racers.”
Practice sessions will take place on Saturday with qualifying on Sunday morning before finals in the afternoon.
“We encourage people to come down and check out the racing,” Souter said. “We have full canteen facilities available, they can wander through the pits, talk to racers and find out as much as they want about kart racing.”
