Organiser Julie Obst said numbers had dropped off in recent years due to golfers wanting to go onto bigger things.
“They’ve either gotten too old or are too good and have moved up to the Tuesday (or) Thursday golf (competitions),” she said.
“(The Monday program) is a great place for someone who has never played golf.
“It’s really just for beginners and for people who don’t want to play 18 holes on Tuesday or Thursday.”
The competition is across nine holes and runs from 9am to noon.
Obst said the program was non-competitive and open for women of all ages.
Obst said having the program was a great driving force for the Horsham Golf Club.
“If we get more numbers, maybe we will have an opportunity to get a professional coach down to the club more regularly,” she said.
To register, beginner golfers can play five rounds of nine holes for free.
After that time, the player decides if they want to continue and will be given the option to purchase a membership.
Obst is working on a two-day membership for beginners for Mondays and Fridays.
