The state government’s Community Harmony Grants Program supports partnerships, projects and initiatives that address the root causes of racial, ethnic and religious intolerance.
The program aims to increase cultural engagement and understanding; support diverse groups; and promote how many values transcend cultural and religious difference.
Acting Multicultural Affairs Minister Gavin Jennings said it was up to everyone to build stronger, more diverse communities.
“These grants will help culturally and religiously-diverse communities across Victoria thrive,” he said.
Mr Jennings said groups could apply for funding in the 2017-18 round at multicultural.vic.gov.au/grants.
Applicants can request up to $80,000.
Applications close on Friday next week.
