Year six student Oscar Watson said the team was excited for the materials to arrive.
“We have until the competition to build and program our Lego robot. We can’t wait to get started,” he said.
The grant provided the team with kits to create the robot and registration for the competition.
The First Lego League team included year six students Oscar Watson, Nathan Hughes, Ryan Sanders, Logan Casey, Riley Lane and Ethan Heard.
Riley said the grant was aimed at regional schools.
“We were one of the lucky ones to receive the grant,” he said.
“Making the video application was really fun and the whole school got involved,” he said.
Riley said their video was different from other schools.
“We did have a little help, but we did majority of it ourselves,” he said.
