Coach Tom Bell said it would be massive for his club to finish with another win in front of its own supporters.
“We have a few players who will be missing so there will be a big focus on how we use the ball,” he said.
Bell said this season had been a chance to further develop his young playing group, and in that sense had been a success. “Our kids have been learning with each week and have improved a lot over the course of the season,” he said. “Cooper Anderson, Harry Cashin and Jordan Bath have really come a long way so it would be great for them to cap off their season with another good performance.”
The sides have already played twice this season and each team has come away with one win.
Donald were flat in the fourth quarter of their round two encounter, which allowed the Redbacks to fall over the line by 11 points.
In round nine the Royal Blues made no such mistakes on the way to a 25-point win on the back of a strong performance by Brody Hadow.
St Arnaud v Boort
THE Saints will look to claw their way to an upset win against Boort to finish off their 2017 campaign. A young Saints side has show potential during the season but were only able to put together four quarters of winning football together against Charlton in round six.
Early in the season St Arnaud managed to get itself into winning positions but were simply unable to run out contests. The side led against Boort for three quarters in round two before being blown away in the final quarter.
Again it was a single poor quarter of football that let the Saints down against the Magpies in round nine.
After trailing 36-0 at quarter time the young St Arnaud side went on to lose 105-66. Coach Jason DeGraaf will once again look for his side to put in one final four quarter effort.
