Justin Richard Foot, 19, appeared in Horsham Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
He pleaded guilty to having an unregistered vehicle and failing to give information in relation to a driver.
The court heard that on July 16 at 10.50am, police were called to Rainbow Road at Warracknabeal where they found a car in a ditch.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Belinda Ryan said the car had run off the road as a result of hoon driving.
“Foot admitted it was his car but said he was not the driver,” she said.
“He said he didn’t know who the driver was.”
Foot told police that he was drunk and someone else had driven the car.
Senior Constable Ryan said the vehicle was unregistered.
Magistrate Mark Stratmann convicted Foot on the charges and fined him $1500.
His driver’s licence was cancelled and disqualified for two years.
