Wannon MP Dan Tehan and Infrastructure Minister Darren Chester announced the money on Thursday.
The Wimmera River Twin Bridges replacement project in Ararat Rural City received $750,000 and was among several other projects.
Mr Tehan said he had worked with the community to identify key bridges for replacement and upgrade.
He said the improvements would increase connectivity.
“The upgrade and replacement of these bridges will improve driving conditions for residents and local truck drivers,” he said.
Mr Chester said the program would deliver $162.53 million in funding to upgrade more than 180 bridges across Australia.
