Other things have changed too, if not in the course of year, rapidly never the less. Views about gender, sexuality and family are being contested. To me it seems another significant change in the past 12 months has been a swell of hostility towards Christianity.
Christianity has provided an invaluable foundation for the nation, a legacy from which we still benefit. We would benefit from more Christian influence, not less. The world has never offered a better, wiser code for living than the Beatitudes and this text is just one example of the wise and good exhortations the bible gives: “Always seek to live in peace. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others (Philippians 2:4-5).
