North East Civil Construction began the upgrade on August 21.
Work at the site included widening of the bridge to double lane with a width of 7.6 metres to improve safety and the installation of new guard rails.
The project also installed concrete culverts, which were craned into position, along with rock beaching within the creek for erosion control. Ararat Rural City Council identified the bridge as a required site for upgrading as part of its Bridge and Roads Renewal Program.
The council advertised for tenders for the Moyston-Dunkeld Road bridge and Allenders bridge in March.
