This event was available to Horsham Ladies Golf members.
It was played out at the Horsham Golf Course.
Horsham Ladies Golf member Colleen Dix said 64 ladies participated in the event.
June Crabtree and Liz Jackman were the winners of the Stableford with 70 points.
“It was really good competition,” Dix said.
“It was perfect conditions and the course was absolutely superb.”
Marge Moore and Trudy Parker came second with 68 points and on count back was Helen Burke and Carolyn Purvis.
“Tomorrow there is another Stableford for other players who aren’t just members of the Horsham Golf Club,” Dix said.
“Last year there was 68 participants but the big day is on Friday.”
The Nell Smithett Trophy will be played out on Friday, it is a team event.
Dix said players are chosen for the event from how they have performed in previous years.
“The match committee looks at their performances from over the years,” she said.
“It’s quite an honour to be chosen.”
Ladies from all over Victoria will travel to play in the prestigious trophy.
“Horsham has two teams of four,” Dix said.
Horsham ladies who didn’t make the cut for the teams have the chance to play in the Blue Wren Trophy on the same day.
