Caccaviello replaces Stephen Field in the managerial role.
Field has been developing the regions cricket for over 20 years and field force manager Chris Harris said he wishes him well in his new and exciting role within Australian cricket.
Field has taken on a new role within the High Performance team as one of six coach and talent specialists.
This will help develop talented cricketers and coaches across the three regions.
Caccaviello will start his employment with Cricket Victoria on December 4 and will be based in Horsham.
He has had several committee roles as part of the Horsham Cricket Association.
Caccaviello is the current A Grade captain for the Saints.
He said he is excited to take on the new role.
“(I am) very excited to have the opportunity to work in the sport that has given me so much personally,” Caccaviello said.
“It is fantastic to be able to be involved in something that I am incredibly passionate about.”
Caccaviello said cricket has been a big part of his life and is looking forward to giving back.
“(I am looking forward to) working with cricket people across the West Country region to assist where I can and hopefully further ignite their passion for the game of cricket,” he said.
“My passion from cricket comes from being able to contribute to something bigger than just yourself.
“The sense of a team and team success is very satisfying.”
Caccaviello said Field will still oversee development of cricket in the region.
“Stephen will now oversee all of our Coach Development and talent in the region,” he said.
“Hence he will have oversight of the State Championship teams in West Country along with having oversight of Central Highlands and the Barwon region.”
Caccaviello said cricket is important to him.
“Cricket has been very kind to me, it is a great way to meet people and make friends,” he said.
“Cricket can give you the opportunity to travel to different parts of the country or even to different countries.”
