"We are looking forward to a wonderful race day,” said St Arnaud Harness Racing Club secretary Kaye Boyd.
“The weather gods have been kind to us, with 31 degrees predicted and both cups have attracted quality fields.”
The strong eight race program commences at 1.24pm and will be highlighted by the running of the 2017 editions of the $14,000 Weirs IGA St Arnaud Pacing Cup and $14,000 St Arnaud Sporting Club Trotters Cup.
Apart from the harness action out on the track, the club has also organised a host of competitions and entertainment options with the assistance of the Victorian Government's race day attraction program.
"There will be something for everyone," explained Kaye.
A new initiative on cup day is the chance to become an owner for a day.

"We've got balloon sculpture, face painting and the animal farm for the youngsters and betting vouchers, a punter’s club and tarot reading for the adults."
A new initiative on cup day is the chance to become an “owner for a day”.
There are some great prizes up for grabs if ‘your’ horse finishes in the money.
"We will also give away a syndicate share in a pacer to one lucky patron who has never previously been involved in the ownership of a horse," said Kaye.
St Arnaud Harness Club members will have the opportunity to win a $2500 Darwin holiday package if they are on-course for the draw.
"A $10 membership gives you free entry to both the cup on Sunday and our second meeting in December," Kaye said.
"Just ring me on 0400 258 887 or call into the race day office for further details and you could win a fantastic prize."
