Sergeant Karen Bain said the hiker had wandered off Briggs Bluff track and became lost.
“Police and State Emergency Services volunteers went in there and we were able to find him,” she said.
“It was a good outcome in the end.”
Sergeant Bain said the rescue came only one day after a Melbourne woman, 30, was stretchered from the Balconies Track at the Grampians.
The woman fell on the popular tourist trail about 12.15pm on Friday.
She was taken to Stawell Regional Health with a suspected sprained ankle.
Stawell State Emergency Service duty officer Jenny Rooke said the incident occurred at an accessible point in the track, which allowed emergency services to respond quickly.
