The annual two-day event kicked off on Friday night with entertainment in the city’s Firebrace Street.
Activities included a Movember challenge, dancers and an art performance.
The festivities continued at Horsham’s Sawyer Park on Saturday with the push bike toy run, the Great Wimmera River Duck Race and the Kannamaroo fun run.
The annual rubber duck race raised money for the Wimmera Health Care Group Foundation.
The Horsham Soundshell came alive in the evening with live music and the festival ended with a fireworks display.
Festival chairwoman Emma Hynes said overall it was a great weekend.
“Friday night was really busy – there were lots of people down the street up until it started raining about 8.30pm,” she said.
Miss Hynes said the day ran smoothly on Saturday.
“We had a really great plan and it was well laid out,” she said.
“Crowds were a bit light on, but the number of people fluctuated during the day and we had lots of people come along for the duck race,” she said.
“A few more people came out in the evening for the live music and the fireworks when it was cooler.
“We had lots of good feedback about the fireworks in particular.”
Horsham’s Kiandra Meek said her family attended the Kannamaroo festival each year.
She said the festival was certainly her favourite event in Horsham.
“The best part about the festival is that everyone comes along for a good time,” she said.
“It is great to see everyone out and about and enjoying themselves.”
Kannamaroo regular Abbie Clark said she always made the effort to come along to the annual event.
She said there were limited activities in Horsham to entertain children.
“This is a great community event and it is important to come along and support the events we have,” she said.
Kaniva resident Tarlie Bannister said it was her first time taking her children to Kannamaroo.
She said having never attended the event before, she had no idea what to expect.
She said the event exceeded her expectations.
“There was heaps of entertainment for the family to enjoy,” she said.
Miss Hynes said the committee would now review the event for next year.
“It was a great weekend, but as always we will go away now and look at what worked and what didn’t,” she said.
“Then we will start planning for next year.”
