AFL Wimmera-Mallee football development manager Jason Muldoon said the league wanted to get the pupils back out on the sporting field.
“Hopefully they can get a kick in before the end of the year,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s football or not, we likes to see kids playing sport.
“It’s a good vehicle for them to continue their life and face the challenges ahead of them.”
Ararat West principal Terry Keilar said that along with classrooms, the school had lost a lot of sports equipment.
“It will encourage the kids to get out in the yard and have a bit of fun, which is greatly appreciated,” he said.
Children’s entertainment group The Mik Maks will also hold a free concert at the school on Wednesday morning after the pupils won a competition run by the band.
