How long have you been playing: 50 years.
How did you start playing: The late Gus Fordam was working for me and he said, “Fred Smith wants me to come to night bowls. What about you coming too?” I have been there ever since.
What is the best thing about playing bowls: You can be beaten in a big way and still have a great day.
What is your favourite bowls memory: After being balloted out of the local tournament. I rang Kaniva and entered the tournament there. We won all our games and came home with a beautiful clock radio each.
What is your most successful day on the green: Winning the mixed pairs with my wife and the men’s pairs with Reg Meagher.
