Police detected the woman, 34, travelling on the Western Highway at 152km/h earlier this month.
Apsley Acting Sergeant Julie Bruce said she was driving in an advised 80 km/h zone.
“Excessive speeding is dangerous and at this time of the year there are more people on the road,” she said.
“People need to take in what they are doing, (152 kilometres an hour) is just ridiculous.”
Acting Sergeant Bruce said the woman was coming into an S-bend and could have easily lost control if there was a distraction.
“She obviously wasn’t familiar with the area. It’s horrifying, there were two baby seats in the back seat but thankfully (children) weren’t in there,” she said.
Acting Sergeant Bruce said the woman would face court in Edenhope in January.
She urged people to slow down on the roads during the Christmas period.
