A LOVING Horsham woman was awarded Horsham Florist’s unsung hero for December.
Eleanor Arnott was nominated by her daughter Isabell Rakuraku for her love and patience.
Ms Arnott said she never expected anyone to nominate her.
She said the recognition was a beautiful gesture from her daughter.
Ms Rakuraku said her mother was a strong, loving and special lady.
“Throughout my life my mum has always been my rock, but in the last ten years she has been my superhero,” she said.

When Ms Rakuraku was caring for her sick husband, Ms Arnott was always there for support.
“My husband became very ill, so I was caring for him at home. I would often go to her in tears and with problems,” she said.
“This whole time while I was leaning on her, my dad was seriously ill, and needed a lot of care and was very dependent on her for everything.”
Three years ago Ms Rakuraku’s dad had passed away.
“When my dad passed away, I wasn’t able to be with her as much as I would have liked,” she said.
“Mum did it all by herself and got through with her gorgeous sense of humour and her positive outlook.”
A sympathetic ear and a hug from her mum helped Ms Rakuraku push through her grief when she lost her husband.
“My heart was broken and mum was there to help me get it out and talk for hours,” she said.
“All this time the pain of losing dad was very close to the surface of her heart.
“Her love and patience was always there for me no matter what she was going through with my dad.”
Horsham Florist co-owner Heather Harrison said people could nominate an unsung hero by calling 5382 1834.
