The game, which was scheduled to take place at 6pm before the men’s teams face off, has been abandoned after Kynteon Tigers were forced to forfeit.
Vice-president of the Horsham Amateur Basketball Association Nicole Lakin said it was disappointing the game could not go ahead.
“It is disppointing for our crew because they’ve all made their holidays short and made sure they were all around,” she said.
“We take it as a win, the only thing is we don’t get any percentage out of it.”
Due to the scheduling change, then men’s sides will now play at 7pm, an hour earlier than was originally planned.
The forfeit means the Lady Hornets’ regular season is now over, as they have a bye scheduled for the final round next week. The team will to return to the court on February 3 for a home semi-final.
The Lady Hornets sit on top of the North West Country Basketball League ladder, with just one loss for the season, coming against the Bendigo Braves.
