The company started preparing the centre site in Horsham this week, after last month winning the tender to build the $5.3-million centre.
Wimmera Health Care Group chief executive Catherine Morley said everything was going to plan.
“As with anything there are always some opportunities to improve, and we're looking at a change in the footings,” she said.
“The project control group is due to meet next week and hope to work through the building timeline then.”
Ms Morley said the centre would increase dialysis and oncology services, upping the number of dialysis chairs from four to six.
“We have six oncology chairs and that will increase to nine,” she said.
“We are also working with Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre to enhance their service delivery so they can come down a bit more often.
“At the moment they come three out of every four weeks, but they've made a commitment to come every week once we're up and running.
“We're also looking to support community members who are going outside of Horsham for those oncology services to be able to come back and have them here.”
Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt will turn the first sod for the centre’s construction on February 21.
