Field days manager Murray Wilson said Mr Littleproud’s visit was exciting for the region.
“The last time we had a federal minister here was Tony Abbott in 2012,” he said.
“As a direct result of Mr Littleproud’s visit, we will do an official opening of the field days, which is something we only look to do when we have someone special come along.”
Mr Wilson said the field days was a major agriculture event for Victoria.
“To attract a senior federal minister to an area that always struggles to attract ministers shows how important the field days is,” he said.
“This is a big get for the region and we are pretty chuffed to have Mr Littleproud come along.”
Mr Littleproud will also join Member for Mallee Andrew Broad at the Nationals stand on Wednesday in the Moore Exhibition Centre.
