In the West Wimmera Shire the Edenhope Cup will kick off the weekend on Saturday. It is expected to bring an excess of 1000 people to the shire.
West Wimmera Shire’s Heidi Gajic said to follow the cup was the Johnny Mullagh Championships at Harrow Recreation Reserve on Sunday.
“There will be a billy cart race, quick sheer competition, fun run, the cup and First Legends Concert,” she said.
Horsham Rural City Council’s Chris McClure said Horsham would definitely benefit from this year’s March long weekend.
“We have the Horsham Fishing Competition which will bring in 2000 competitors and there will also be partners and families who will be in town as well and aren’t competing,” he said.
Mr McClure said there was also the WACK Show and Shine which would attract about 2000 people.
“The Horsham Greyhound Club is hosting its annual Horsham Cup on Saturday,” he said.
Another large attraction hosted in Horsham is the MX Amateur junior two day championships on Saturday and Sunday.
The Bronte Holland Memorial 125cc Cup will be raced on Saturday.
Donald will host the Esoteric Music Festival from Friday to Sunday while Moyston will host the Pitch Music Festival from Friday to Monday.
Nhill will host the annual Wheels for Wirraway event where there will be parades, markets, food and activities for children.
It will be at the Nhill Aerodrome.
