The group’s former vice president Pamela Pratt stepped into the top job at the group’s annual general meeting in February.
Ms Pratt is a former president of Wimmera Legacy and owns an alpaca stud at Laharum with her husband David. She is only the second female president for the group in its 142-year history.
“I’m excited to be given the role and have the chance to help keep the show going and growing,” Ms Pratt said. “The thing I’m most looking forward to is getting out into the community, meeting new people and continuing the great community spirit that the show brings.”
Ms Pratt said the group were looking at for new and exciting ways to make this year’s show even better.
“We’re trying to get a lot of interesting community participation activities,” she said. “It will remain very much community focused and it’s important that the local community support the show to keep it going.”
She said stepping into a role only held by one other woman was an honour.
“Although it doesn’t really matter in this day and age, the first female president Jo Lane led the way for women to make their mark,” she said. “The show is changing with the times and we’re getting a lot of younger committee members.”
WesternAg agronomist Nick Zordan has taken on the position of vice president, while 20-year-old Zack Currie is junior vice president.
The Horsham Agricultural Show will be on Sunday, September 30.
