Art Matters have started a project called Soap Box Theatre.
The Soap Box Theatre will act as a theatre company which will help actors and actresses to play roles in Horsham’s Art Is… festival.
Actor and theatre maker Jim Lawson will lead the grop.
Horsham Rural City Council community services director Kevin O’Brien said Soap Box Theatre was developed to address the need for a professional performing arts program in the Wimmera.
“It’s a program that allows people with a disability to have equal access to express their distinct talents for the stage, culminating in an ensemble production during this year’s Art Is… festival,” he said.
The first session and meeting for the Soap Box Theatre is on April 19 at the Jubilee Hall in Roberts Avenue, Horsham. The session starts at 10am.
