A man and woman allegedly attended a Firebrace Street electronics store and attempted to use a stolen credit card to purchase various items at 12.50pm.
The man and woman fled the store when the card did not work.
Later that day, the same man and woman allegedly attended a Wilson Street hardware store and used the stolen credit card to purchase various tools amounting to about $2000.
Police have released CCTV images of a man and woman who they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries.
The woman is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with brown hair, about 25 to 35 years old and was pregnant at the time of the incident.
She was wearing a beige coloured dress and thongs.
The man is perceived to be Pacific Islander in appearance, about 30-years-old and had short dark brown hair.
He was wearing a grey singlet top and dark coloured shorts with thongs.
