One lane of McPherson Street will be closed in each direction between O’Callaghans Parade and Baillie Street for the work, which is part of VicRoads’ Western Highway upgrade.
The work will start on April 26 and run for about two weeks.
VicRoads has advised people to expect delays of between five and 10 minutes.
More work on the road will happen later in the year.
VicRoads said people could visit traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au or download the VicTraffic app for the latest information about the work.
Major roadworks are continuing on the Western Highway between Horsham and Pimpinio.
The work has been ongoing for months, and crews are currently working in the section between Polkemmet Road and Dahlen Quarry Road.
Lane closures and stops are in place.
There are also roadworks on the highway north-west of Dadswells Bridge.
