Edenhope-Apsley has started the year in solid form, with close wins against both Rupanyup and Kalkee.
A Grade coach Monica van Dyk said following the win to Kalkee that this week’s clash against the Ewes would be important for the side’s development.
“We will certainly know where we are at as a side after the Natimuk United game,” she said.
Natimuk United has continued where it left off last season, with the returning Jo Taylor adding to the side’s strong defensive powers.
The Ewes have demolished Noradjuha-Quantong and Rupanyup in the first two rounds, and will travel to Apsley for their encounter with the Saints on Saturday.
Coach Cheryl Sudholz said her side would not be underestimating the Saints.
“Until we play a team, I feel as though we cannot underestimate anyone – we are only two rounds in and there have been some results I wasn’t expecting,” she said.
“I would assume the Saints will be different to last season, but our focus is on playing our own game.
“We are combining extremely well and as the opportunity arises, I’m trying different combinations all over the court.”
Elsewhere, Pimpinio will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Swifts when it takes on Noradjuha-Quantong.
The Tigers will return to their home court, and are still chasing their first win of the season.
Another interesting encounter will see Harrow-Balmoral take on Kalkee. Despite two solid performances, the Kees are still looking for their first win.
The Swifts will travel to Rupanyup and will be confident of continuing its solid start to the season.
Laharum returns after a week off with the bye, and will travel to Jeparit to take on the Storm.
The physicality and strength of the Demons side will make it tough for a rebuilding Jeparit-Rainbow team.
Taylors Lake has a bye this week.
