The college’s Year 11 students will perform a variety of traditional and modern dances for special guests at the school’s hall.
School captain Josiah Mock said students had been training twice a week since February for the special occasion.
“I think everyone has mixed emotions at the moment. It’s a really good opportunity to start off the school term with a great event like the ball,” he said.
“But you also get nervous.”
Josiah said the students, forming 11 couples, had fun learning a new skill.
“Everyone is really giving it a good go. It doesn’t matter what experience they have had with dancing,” Josiah said.
School captain Oriana Panozzo said she it had been an exciting time for students.
“Everyone has gotten involved and have stepped up,” she said.
“For some people, learning to dance has been a bit more challenging but everyone enjoys it.”
Oriana Panozzo said she would make the most of the night with friends and family in attendance.
“I think about 225 people are attending,” she said.
The boys will wear traditional matching black suits with a white shirt and the girls will wear white dresses.
Jessica Grimble, who attended the school, joined veteran trainer Jan Morris in teaching the students various styles of dance for their presentation.
