Riders have travelled from around the country and as far as New Zealand for the event.
Club president Kenny Watts said the first day of racing was a huge success for all of those involoved.
“We had some great racing witnessed,” he said. “The whole weekend is a great result for the club and the weather was fantastic on Saturday. Just seeing these high calibre riders here is awesome.”
The reigning Victorian champion Callum Norton was one of the riders to watch on Saturday.
“Norton was great as expected,” Watts said. “He is the reigning Victorian champion and won his class and he was fairly dominant. He won all three races yesterday.
“Young Wyatt Fogarty won the A Grade under-19 class and Maddison Bird out of Geelong won the women’s class.”
There were riders from the Wimmera also competing, with Watts’ son Cory Watts competing well.
“Cory finished high in A Grade and he did well considering he hasn’t ridden for a while,” Watts said.
Watts said spectators had been making the most of the new grandstands.
“People have been coming and having a look and taking advantage of having the elevated spectator areas, so they can see more of the track now,” he said.
