In another close game for the Kees, this time they were able to come out on top of a strong Harrow-Balmoral side.
The two sides were close all day, with the Southern Roos holding a two point lead after the first quarter, and a one point lead at the end of the first half.
Kalkee wrestled itself into the lead, with offensive players Tamara Exell and Jenna Bywaters leading the way.
At the end of the third, Kalkee had hit the lead, up 35-32.
Kalkee held on and increased its lead, finishing the game winners by five points, 46-41.
It was just reward for Kalkee’s efforts the past two weeks, being competitive against Laharum and losing a close game against Edenhope-Apsley.
The Swifts and Rupanyup also played out a close game, with the Swifts earning its second win for the season 56-48.
The Swifts led for the whole game, and had a handy 16 goal lead after both the second and third terms.
Rupanyup forced its way back into the game, limiting the Swifts to just seven goals in the final quarter and scoring 15 of their own.
The margin proved too large to chase down, with the Swifts holding on for an eight-goal win.
In the other matches, Laharum out-muscled Jeparit-Rainbow, comfortably winning 59-27.
League powerhouse Natimuk United continued its undefeated start to the season beating Edenhope-Apsley, and Noradjuha-Quantong accounted for Pimpinio away from home.
