Ashfar will have two sessions at the art gallery. She will host a masterclass as well as a meet and greet.
Afshar won Australia’s Notional Photographic Portrait Prize with her work Portrait of Ali, which documents a young boy in a mountainous village of northern Iran.
She is a member of ‘Eleven’ – a collective of contemporary Muslim Australian artists, curator and writers.
The masterclass is at the Handbury Education Centre from 1pm to 2.30pm and costs $40, or $35 for Horsham Town Hall members.
The meet and greet is at the Horsham Regional Art Gallery and is free. It runs from 3pm to 4.30pm.
