The Victorian hunting group, Aussie Hunters Show of Hearts, started an Everyday Hero funding page with an aim to raise $25,000 for sick children and their families.
The total is currently just under $10,500.
Horsham J&A Shooting Supplies owner Bill Jorgensen said the group’s goal was to raise money for a good cause.
“We’re also trying to raise awareness that hunters aren’t barbaric like we are so often portrayed as,” he said.
“Hunting is a social sport and is about spending time with family and friends.
“We want to be able to hand the hospital this big cheque so we can make a difference in the lives of sick kids.”
Mr Jorgenson said people could head to the Everyday Hero website to donate to the cause.
