“We’re planning on doing burns in places such as Mount William,” FFMV Wimmera district manager Glenn Rudolph said.
“Around spring time we are planning on doing township burns in Stawell and Ararat.
“These are critical to the town.”
FFMV did planned burns around the Grampians region last week, including in Pomonal and Boronia Track.
In early May a bushfire sparked near Boronia Track, after a private planned burn got out of control. The bushfire was quickly controlled.
Planned burns “are important”, Mr Rudolph said.
“People can do their own burns on private property.”
Fire restrictions ended at the start of May, but the CFA are still urging people to be careful.
Mr Rudolph urges people planning to do private burns to “contact the CFA if you’re in doubt”.
