Victoria Police Leading Senior Constable Natalie Dean has confirmed Friday morning’s incident.
“Police and emergency services responded to reports that a truck had left the road Dadswells Bridge just before 4.30am this morning,” she said.
“The Melbourne-bound truck crossed on to the west--bound lanes and came to rest on the side of the road.
“The truck driver, a 37-year-old man from Davoren Park, South Australia is assisting police with their enquiries.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the crash is being investigated.”
UPDATE, 11am:
A Victoria Police spokeswoman has confirmed that the incident happened at about 4.30am on Friday morning.
The Melbourne-bound truck was travelling along the Western Highway near Dadswells Bridge when the driver veered over to the west-bound lanes and came to rest on the side of the road.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed that ambulance crews did not attend the scene.
