The Horsham-based air-conditioning manufacturing company is a finalist in the state government’s Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame awards.
The awards recognise the excellence of companies across the state’s manufacturing industry.
Smallaire director and owner Lolita Small said she was overjoyed with the recognition.
“My dad Gary started Smallaire as a small family business in Rainbow 44 years ago,” she said.
“The recognition and just being on a list with such high caliber companies is something we’re so happy about and we’re so pumped to even be nominated.
“We wouldn’t be nominated without the support of the community over the years.”
Smallaire employs 20 people and manufactures evaporative air-conditioning for homes, industry and businesses.
The company also works closely with farmers to help them find solutions for problems they may have with their air seeders.
“Our products are exported both nationally and internationally to countries such as the USA, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa,” she said.
“Recently we got a grant from the state government’s Regional Development Grant program to expand our factory space and grow our staffing base.”
The awards will be announced on Monday in Melbourne.
