THE region’s new cancer centre in Horsham is starting to take shape.
Horsham Steel Constructions installed some of the final steel for the Wimmera Cancer Centre – on the corner of Robinson and Arnott streets – in May.
Horsham’s Locks Constructions are managing the project.
Wimmera Health Care Group chief executive Catherine Morley said everything was going well with the build.
“It's on time and on track, and we're continuing to move forward at a fast and furious rate, which is really exciting,” she said.
“We hope it keeps raining on the weekends so that we don't lose any working days to weather.
“Locks have been fantastic, and the community is still supporting us, which we're really grateful for. We're trying to make sure we get the best outcome we can, which will take us into the future.”
Construction started in late January, and the centre is due to be completed in November.
The centre will offer cancer treatment, dialysis and community palliative care.
