The current house is located in Pearl Street, but a planning permit was lodged to move to the former maternal child health and kindergarten in Robins Street.
Horsham Community House coordinator Kathy Boeham said the current location was unsuitable because of its small rooms and the limited space.
“We want to move to the north because we don’t have suitable disability access and it’s getting quite old and needs repairs. But, there isn’t any funding around to upgrade the facility,” she said. “Also 80 per cent of people who come through here are from the north area, so we see an opportunity here.”
Ms Boeham said the new location would offer disability access, off-street parking, bigger rooms and outside areas. She said there was an opportunity to expand classes.
The community house and Horsham council are consulting with the community before a decision is finalised.
