NHILL Golf Club’s annual five-day tournament wrapped up on Monday with a very close finish in the men’s 36-hole stroke.
Horsham’s Lewis Gebert and Jordan Briggs finished tied after the 36 holes with a gross score of 148.
Gebert then won the Lowan Cup on the first extra hole. Libby Lacey won the women’s 18-hole stroke with a score of 82.
Thursday was ladies day and the Bet Bussau Memorial Cup winner for the best net score on the 18-hole stroke went to Kerri Lynch with a score of 70. Julie Neumann was the A Grade scratch winner with a score of 85.
Nhill Golf Club greenskeeper and captain Shane Grover said the tournament was a success.
“We had huge numbers and lots of visitors – we had more than 500 rounds of golf played,” he said.
“The Saturday was our biggest day with 132 people coming through but every day was up on last year. We had great weather and players from across the region.”
