HORSHAM Highway Patrol intercepted a man allegedly driving 164km/h along the Western Highway near Pink Lake, Dimboola over the long weekend.

A police spokesperson said the 23-year-old University student from Sydney tried to justify his speeding to officers.
“He wanted to show his mother the natural wonder and get back to Melbourne before dark,” they said.
“Our members know only too well the impact a high speed collision has on families and the community.
“On this occasion, our members were able to intervene before someone was hurt or worse.”
The man lost his licence for 12 months.
