Minyip Police Leading Senior Sergeant Michael Baldock said the incident happened at about 8.30pm during a thick fog.
“The car was being driven by a 23-year-old Nhill man, with one passenger, a 50-year-old Nhill man,” he said.
“It was travelling east on the Minyip-Dimboola Road, when at the Stawell-Warracknabeal intersection the driver failed to stop.
“The car collided with a drain, spun around and ended up in a paddock.”
Leading Senior Sergeant Baldock said both men were injured in the crash.
“The driver was taken to Wimmera Base Hospital in Horsham, while the passenger was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital,” he said.
“They are both recovering and not in serious conditions.”
He said investigations into the crash were ongoing.
