After leading by more than 10 goals at half time the Giants really put their foot down during the second half before winning 26.22 (178) to 2.3 (15).
Southern Mallee Giants coach Coleman Schache said he was happy with how his side bounced back.
“It was just good to play good footy and to build some momentum,” he said.
During the opening stages of the game Dimboola competed hard before the Giants took full control of the match. A ten-goal third quarter extended a 65-point Southern Mallee lead to 116 with a quarter to play.
“We were able to move the ball how we wanted to in a four-quarter performance,” Schache said. “Throughout the whole week everyone was really keen to bounce back during training and that came through on Saturday in terms of how much it meant to us to bounce back.”
