Returning assistant coach Simon Close kicked six goals for the Southern Roos, while Anthony Close, Nick Pekin and Todd Lawrence all kicked four goals each.
At half-time the game was put to bed with the Southern Roos kicking a massive score of 16.8 (104) to Rupanyup’s 2.0 (12).
Southern Roos playing coach Nick Pekin said it was a great response after the Jeparit-Rainbow loss.
“The boys really put a four-quarter performance in and it was great to have Simon Close come back in and straighten us up, he played a great game,” Pekin said.
The Southern Roos now overtake Kalkee and the Storm into top position on percentage.
“We learnt a lot from the loss and everything started to click and gel together finally,” Pekin said.
