Prior to joining the Storm, Schulz played for the Warrack Eagles in the Wimmera Netball Association and also spent time in Adelaide.
“Before joining the Warrack Eagles I played for Hummocks in the Adelaide Plains Netball Association in South Australia,” Schulz said. “I’ve found that every club has differences and similarities. Everyone is there to play for the enjoyment but also some success at the same time.”
Schulz’s sister in law Alex Schulz is the coach of her A Grade side and her brother Adam plays senior football for the Storm.
“My boyfriend Joel played for the Storm too, but he has just gone into retirement from football, or so he says,” Schulz said.
The Storm’s A Grade netball side has had some tough times the last couple of seasons but Schulz said the team had been improving.
“Over the last three years we have not had the same team, with changes each season so that takes time to adjust and learn each other’s game,” she said.
“The girls are all motivated and we work well together as a team. We are taking each week at a time and looking to improve small things.”
Schulz said she has made lifelong friends at netball.
“The fantastic friends you meet and get to play with along the way has been a highlight, and also learning new things and helping juniors to improve their game,” she said.
