In previous rounds, the electorate of Mallee has been successful with a total of 27 new or upgraded base stations across the region.
Mr Broad hoped this round would invite more coverage to the region’s communities.
“I have been advocating for this program to return because as we know there are still plenty of people around our patch that don’t have the mobile coverage that they need,” he said.
“This is great news for farmers, for local small businesses and for anyone who relies on mobile coverage - be it to work or for security and safety.”
Mobile carriers will submit applications in the coming months.
The selection process is expected to take place in the second half of 2018.
