Riders from across Victoria and South Australia tested themselves at the racecourse at Dooen.
The highlight of the day was the return of Indonesian motocross champion Lewis Stewart, who is originally from Ararat.
Horsham Motorcycle Club spokesperson Kenny Watts said Stewart brought a high standard of racing to the event.
“We had a perfect weekend, we had a little bit of rain but the racing was awesome,” he said. “Lewis Stewart came from Indonesia and went out and won the day for the MX1 class. I was hoping one of our boys could give him a run, but they were off the pace a bit. He was a great rider to watch. He is a former Victorian champion.
“We had a great mix of riders from all across Victoria and South Australia. There was no stopping all day, it was just great racing from start to finish.”
The event also provided the Horsham riders with a chance to further their development in what was the fourth round of the six-round series.
“We had Michael Blake, one of the younger riders in Horsham, win all three of his races and has been in good form,” Watts said.
“Corey Quick in the C grade lites is going well and Ben Wright is leading the b grade 85cc class. Most of our club riders did pretty well.”
Watts said there was plenty of support for the event from spectators.
“Being a cold day a few people were probably kept away but the club was happy with the support we had,” he said. “With the colder weather people would have been going into town more and generating some income for the town, which is good.”
