The Commission has released its finalised pricing decision for 12 of the state’s 17 water corporations, including Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water.
Average households with GWMWater will see their bill fall by $30, compared to Central Highlands Water falling by $20 and Coliban Water falling by $26.
In the Melbourne area, the average household bill will fall by around $30 to $40 before inflation per year.
Customers of Goulburn Valley Water (Shepparton) will benefit from the largest reduction of around $90 for a typical customer over five years.
Victorian Water Minister Lisa Neville said the state now had some of the lowest water prices in Australia.
“This is great news for families right across Victoria, with prices steady or down,” she said.
“We’ve worked with water corporations to achieve lower prices, while also delivering major projects and upgrades across Victoria.”
The opposition has continued to pursue the government in state budget estimates hearings over water projects in the region.
Coalition MPs have accused Ms Neville of mishandling an application to the federal government to help fund the East Grampians pipeline for small towns and farms in the region.
